SPEEDWAY HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS

This week, we celebrate Lucas McGlone, the son of Mark and Casey McGlone. Lucas is the youngest of four siblings and has two sisters (Kate, Emma) and a brother (Sam). Luke's best friend is Lincoln Bruce, as they went to kindergarten together. Luke has played football and participated in track & field during his four years at Speedway. “Luke is a joy to be around and is respected by everyone on the team,” said varsity football coach Shane Clampitt. “His work ethic and determination earned him the opportunity to contribute on Friday nights. It couldn’t have happened to a better young man.” So, why does Luke participate in athletics? “It keeps me active, helps me learn how to be a leader and go through tough things.” As of this deadline, Luke was still deciding to either go to IU or Purdue, and is unsure about what he is wanting to study.
