This week we are excited to celebrate soccer senior Randy Morales-Laguna. Randy has only been here at Speedway for two years but he has already had an incredible impact on the team. “He’s a great talent with great individual skill and he learned to put his own desires to the side to help the team wherever he could,” said varsity boys soccer coach Dean Heaviland. Randy's favorite soccer memory was when they beat rival Cardinal Ritter during Randy's junior year. Randy is always striving for his best on and off the field no matter what. He also participated in track his junior year, where he ran the 800 meter race and the 4x800 meter relay. Randy credits two people as being very influential in his life. “My older brother gives me tips on what to do and not to do,” said Randy who also wanted to give credit to his junior year English teacher, Matthew Taylor. “He (Mr. Taylor) teaches me things about the real world and gives me good advice,” said Randy. Good luck Randy, Speedway wishes you the very best in the future. Speedway senior profiles are created by the Speedway Student Media Team of Morgan Smith, Jonathan Berry, Hayli Clampitt, and Colten Thompson.
