Drew Matelic and Kendrick Kiser were a potent 1-2 punch for Speedway's varsity boys basketball team this year.

Speedway seniors Kendrick Kiser and Drew Matelic earned multiple honors for their basketball efforts at Speedway. Both players were named to the HLC all-conference team and both players were also tabbed to play in the Marion County senior all-star game. Kiser averaged 9.7 points per game, 4.7 rebounds per game, and 3.2 assists per game while directing the Sparkplug offense. He shot 73% from the free throw line this season. On three occasions, Kendrick scored a season high 16 points. He was a three year varsity performer for the Plugs. Matelic ended his career as the team's MVP, leading rebounder, and top free throw shooter. Matelic accrued 1441 points for his four year career. This year, Drew averaged 25.2 points per game 57% from the field, and 75% from the free throw stripe. His 185 rebounds led the team as well. Matelic plans on playing basketball and attending Trine University.
