A good team needs someone who is always dedicated and giving 100% no matter what. Zachary Carroll is a prime example of that. Zac currently swims for our high school team where he has won the team's MVP award the past two seasons along with winning that award at the junior high. In addition, Zac has earned five blue ribbons at the conference swim meets during his career at Speedway. Zac's most impressive feat might be his performance in the 500 free at last year's Sectional meet. He finished fifth in the finals and set a school record of 5.18.33 in that race. “ Zac is an amazing and dedicated athlete," said swim coach Sarah Reuter. "He shows up for every practice and is always giving 100%. I am honored to be coaching Zac and look forward to what he is going to bring to the team for his senior year.” So why is swimming important to Zac? “I find swimming relaxing believe it or not," said Zac. "When I swim long distances like the mile or the 500, I sometimes get into a relaxed state and really find a love and passion for the sport.” Academically Zac is a very hard working student that ranks in the top third of his academic class. Zac's favorite subject is math and he would also like to thank his swim coaches past and present including former Speedway coach Kylie Keevy, Charles Grace at Pike, and Coach Reuter. While Zach is undecided at this time on where he wants to go to college, he is eager to continue his swim career at the next level. Zac is the son of Kevin and Amy Carroll, and he has one brother (Christopher). We are so happy to be celebrating Zac, and we are so excited to see what his future holds! Senior profiles are compiled by the Student Media team of Morgan Smith, Jonathan Berry, Colten Thompson and Hayli Clampitt.
