In this era of athletes specializing in one sport, Hayli Clampitt has proven you can be a high caliber athlete in multiple sports. Not only is she a three-sport athlete at Speedway, Hayli also enjoys her travel softball experiences outside of school for Pro X Phoenix out of Westfield! Hayli has had lots of accomplishments over the past four years. She has earned MVP honors in softball, the highest field goal percentage in basketball, and she has also been named a Most Improved Player. “A key to her success will be her belief in herself," said varsity basketball coach Joe Smith. Hayli continues to impress the Speedway community not only as an athlete but as a person too. “She has grown into a great leader and go to player," said varsity volleyball coach Sadie Pflum. In fact, one reason that Hayli loves playing sports is that it brings mental toughness. Hayli is the daughter of JD Clampitt and Heather Hamm and the sister of Aj Hamm, Aedric Telfer, and Lennox Telfer. Hayli wants to recognize her father who has also served as her coach at times. “My Dad would be an influence because he helps with sports and life in general." Hayli has been busy visiting colleges where she would like to play softball and she is interested in studying sonography and radiology. Congratulations Hayli.
