Macy Delisle is being celebrated today for her great accomplishments in volleyball and basketball! Macy has been a four year varsity athlete in both sports her entire high school career. She also not only plays sports for the school, but Macy has also played AAU basketball for Indiana Showcase since 8th grade. One thing that Macy loves about basketball is you get to meet tons of new people and friends while on the team. During her basketball career, Macy has been awarded the free throw award and was also part of the girls sectional championship basketball team in 2024! While Macy has earned a lot of accomplishments, she is not done yet! “This summer, she proved to be an important part of us, not only in her play, but she has become one of our definite leaders,” said varsity coach Joe Smith. “She loves the game and desperately wants us to be successful. For that to happen, she will need to be one of our leading scorers and defenders, be able to not turn the ball over, and lead us in both good times and bad.” “We can’t wait to see what she accomplishes this season!” exclaimed Smith. The volleyball Sparkplugs open Marion County tournament play this evening. According to varsity coach Sadie Pflum, Macy has shown lots of improvements in volleyball as well! “This year she is able to showcase her athleticism and competitiveness in a bigger role which has quickly grown since the start of the season,” said Pflum. One adult that Macy would like to recognize for being an influence in her life is her AAU coach! “He has been there for me since 8th grade and he always shows up for my school games and I know he will always have my back.” Macy is the daughter of Amy DeLisle and Jason DeLisle and is the sister to Tommy DeLisle (sophomore and 2024 graduate Alex DeLisle. Macy plans on attending the University of Cincinnati to study Medical Imaging and possibly play intramural basketball!
