SPEEDWAY HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS

A bright athlete, and an amazing student, Lucas DeVault is a great role model to look after. Lucas plays football and baseball and has received varsity letters in both sports! Lucas really enjoys his time at school, in large part due to his best friends, Kendrick Kiser, Vincent Simpson, Andrew Phillips, and Jonathan Berry. According to DeVault, they make his schooling easy and fun to be a part of. It’s week 6 of the football regular season this week and head coach Shane Clampitt had amazing things to say about his senior. “Lucas is a captain and the kind of player every coach hopes to have.” And while football is important to, baseball is special to DeVault. His favorite memory of high school is, “Winning a Sectional Championship in baseball.” Lucas intends to study Architecture at Ball State. His family pushes him to the max. His sister Emma also attended Ball State and Lucas is going to follow that same path. His parents, Eric Devault and Crystal Polson, really push him to be the best student he can be and Lucas mentioned the important influence his father has had on him. “He has shown me how to be resilient through tough times and he has always been there for me whenever I need,” said Lucas. Lucas has achieved a lot, and he isn’t done yet. Everyone in the town of Speedway is excited to see what Lucas does in his future!
