It’s Operation Football Night at Speedway and we are celebrating someone in the thick of it. Mamadou Diallo is a hard-working senior athlete who has played football here at Speedway for the past four years. “I have loved playing since I was a kid,” said Mamadou. He has earned many accomplishments in the past 4 years which include two varsity letters and induction into the National Honors Society, which shows he doesn't only work hard on the field but he also works hard in the classroom. Mamadou’s hard work has secured him a captain spot and shows by him being the leading rusher on the football team “Mamadou is one of the hardest-working players I have ever coached,” said varsity football coach Shane Clampitt. “Everything he has earned comes from relentless effort, which is why so many people root for him. A captain and our leading rusher, he represents the rewards of perseverance.” Mamadou wants to go to college to study engineering, specifically electrical engineering and also wants to continue his athletic career playing football! “I’m excited to see him continue his career at the next level,” added Clampitt. Today we celebrate Mamdou for representing our football team and our high school as being a dedicated team member and student! We are all proud of you Mamaodu and excited to see what you accomplish! Athletic profiles are compiled by SHS Student Media Team Members Morgan Smith, Jonathan Berry, Hayli Clampitt, and Colten Thompson.
